![]() ![]() I understood previously that Skype does not own the video and audio which led me to conclude that the copyright is vague. If a customer records a show on Skype, then who owns the copyright of the recording? The webcam site does not own it because the video and audio stream was not sent through its servers. The most common reason I have heard is because the resolution of the video at Skype is higher than at the webcam site.īecause in camworld things are sometimes not as they seem, I began thinking about other possible reasons. So why do some customers what a model to use Skype? (aka Don't accept file transfers from strangers kids!)Īs CamGirlJen states some customers ask for shows using Skype instead of the webcam site. ![]() If you use Skype and it works for you, super, but please make sure you at least set Skype up correctly so you can protect your ass. Personally it sounds like a big pain in the ass to run around finding customers, doing all the marketing & PR, dealing with payments (or NON-payments), etc. Who knows, maybe it's just the owners of the websites fishing for models who break their contracts. They also deal with all my customer service issues (if any). I am OK with them taking MOST of the money! They bring me traffic and from that traffic I get paid - every week without fail. I've just about had it up to HERE with all these requests! I know, I know, "you'll get 100% (minus fees from paypal, or similar) of the money rather than only 35% (or whatever)." Well, if Paypal finds out what the hell I took money for they'll charge both of us $500 for breaking their TOS. Lately I've been seeing a lot of spamming in models' rooms (mfc and streamate at least) from "customers" saying how they'd love to give $300 for a show on Skype so the model gets the full amount. ![]()
